Ten hand blown glass ice plates, each decorated with a wheel-cut star to the base. These are in perfect condition with no scratches or cracks and little rubbing to the underneath.
Extensive glass table services became increasingly popular towards the end of the 19th century. These glass plates are shaped to hold ice to keep a bowl of butter or a dessert cool at the dining table. They could also be used as a stand for a wine rinser to catch drips when a wine glass is cleaned. Today they make excellent salad or oyster plates.
