Georgian small corner wall cupboard with door and brass fitting, possibly a sailors cabinet Circa 1800.
Charming small cabinet with single interior shelf. Lovely colour and patina to the old mahogany.
Sailor‘s cabinets of the late 18th and early 19th Century were usually small simple wooden items that could be easily fixed into tight corners between wooden beams and were used by sailors to keep their everyday possessions in. If they didnt have a door, they had high ledge fronts to the shelves to stop items falling out as the ship rolled at sea.
