Bon Bon basket made with three individual pierced bowls linked with three arm handle. Hallmarks to base for Edward Souter Barnsley, Birmingham 1908. Two "Registration No." stamps to base but overlapping so difficult to decipher.
Good quality bon bon basket of less commonly seen form. Charming features such as the small claw design where the handles meet the baskets highlight the quality of design and manufacture. Good condition with clear hallmarks.
Edward Souter Barnsley first register a mark in 1887 and was active at Frederick Street in Birmingham from 1895 to 1921. A well regarded silversmith producing good quality smaller items such as baskets, bowls, napkin rings and toast racks etc.
