Vintage World War Two French Brass Trench Art Style Cigarette Lighter, Novex Paris

World war Two vintage Trench Art style lighter. Made of Brass with white metal French "Ministry of Finance" seal to front below raised flower basket motif. "Novex" Paris stamped to underside. Top pulls off to reveal wick and flint striking wheel (like a zippo lighter). Flint is changed by unscrewing and removing the striker to reveal another screw on its underside which houses the flints.

Stylish brass lighter from the World War Two period. Really good quality compared to some similar lighters of this period. Still usable or makes a great addition to a collectors cabinet.

Ministry of finance seals were required on all lighters sold in France between 1911 and 1945. The style of seal on this lighter dates it to between 1926 and 1945.
