Copper and brass military bugle with original silk tassels and brass Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders crest dating from around the turn of the 19th/20th century.
This bugle is generally in good condition for its age, and certainly still capable of calling Reveille or Lights Out (if you have the puff for it), but does have a few small dings to the copper and the tassels are age worn with some discolouration. Currently in unpolished condition (because some people prefer that look) but the copper and brass would polish up really well if that is what you prefer. A great gift for somebody with a connection to the Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders (or Balaklava Company) or as a colourful decorative item.
The Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders were created in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot and 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot. The regiment currently exists as a single company called Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders).
