Silver quaich by a notable London-based manufacturer. S J Rose was founded in 1928 and became S J Rose & Son in 1936. The firm was was known as a manufacturer of jewellery and silverware. They were liquidated in 1993.

A quaich is a traditional Scottish shallow, two-handled drinking cup, often called the "cup of friendship" or "loving cup". Derived from the Scottish Gaelic word cuach, meaning "cup," it symbolizes trust and friendship, and was historically used to offer guests a welcoming drink.
