Royal Doulton Tubelined Vase by Bessie Newbery, designed by Francis Pope, Circa 1920

An Art Nouveau-style vase designed by Francis Pope. The vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion and the series number 8138. It also has the incised monogram of Bessie Newbery.

Francis Pope worked at Doultons Lambeth from 1880 to 1925, producing designs in tubelined and brushlined designs. He also designed for other artists, including Bessie Newbery. Bessie worked at Doulton’s Lambeth factory in from 1882 to 1924, collaborating with many of the finest designers.
