Mid 19th Century Walnut Box With Boxwood and Rosewood Inlay, Working Key

Walnut box with boxwood and rosewood inlay. The top has a predominantly boxwood diamond inlay to the top surrounded by a boxwood border inlaid with rosewood roundels. In contrast, the chamfered edges of the box are inlaid with boxwood roundels. Inside there is a single lift out tray lined with red and white patterned paper. Good quality box hinges that prevent the top rocking back too far. Green baize to underside. Working key. Mid 19th Century.

Box is in good condition with a freshly lined tray in good quality book end paper. Unusual roundel design makes the box stand out.
