Vintage Herbert Terry designed Model 1227 anglepoise lamp. Has two step base with adjustable springs. The shade has a curled rim and ventilation holes around the switch area. "Made by Herbert Terry & Sons" stamped to forks,
The style of base, shade and springs dates this lamp to the 1950s. There is a small dent to the shade.
The first prototype of the Anglepoise lamp was introduced in 1932/33 and is recognisable by its tall cast base. The first production version Model 1209 (short cast base) ran from 1933 to 1968. The first variation of the Model 1227 featured a triple step square base and ran from 1935 to 1938. The second variation of the Model 1227 with a double step base ran from 1938 to 1968.
