A set of four Regency crystal glass rinsers or coolers with three rows of facet cuts and a star cut base.
In very good condition with a tiniest nibble under one lip, which can be felt rather than seen. These rinsers make wonderful vases for holding low arrangements of flowers on a dining room table.
The wine-glass cooler was a miniature version of the Monteith, used to rest glasses from notches in the rim. The purpose was to cool the glasses before serving wine and for rinsing them between courses. This form is late Georgian. Facet cuts which involved cutting flat vertical slices from the glass emerged in the early 19th century.
