set of ten Victorian tiles with dark pink art nouveau flowers and a green lustre glaze background.
Stunning set of tiles which have come out of a washstand back and are in extremely clean condition. One has a tiny frit and there is rubbing along the edge and minor crazing commensurate with age, but otherwise they are in near-perfect condition. Unusual to get a set of ten.
They have “registered” and the rampant lion mark for T. A. Simpson on the back. T. A. Simpson & Co were Stoke-on-Trent potters operating at the Swan Works in Hanley from 1885 to 1887 and at the Cliff Bank Works in Stoke from 1887 until the start of the 1900s.
